About SkyVector

From passion to precision

SkyVector Drone Solutions started with a love of flight and useful aerial data. What began on a DJI Mini 4K is now a Waikato-based professional service built around the Matrice 4T.

The journey

Over a year of consistent flying on the Mini 4K taught the realities of New Zealand wind, light, and access. Moving to the Matrice 4T meant stepping up to enterprise thermal, zoom, and mapping payloads — the right tool for roofs, solar, farms, and infrastructure.

We are based in the Waikato and work across the North Island and beyond by arrangement. The goal is simple: take capability we trust and make it work for your project — with clear pricing and no invented case studies.

The 2026 platform

Matrice 4T thermal at 640×512 native, with Super Resolution up to 1280×1024 — wording we use consistently, because resolution claims should match the aircraft.

Local flight sense

Waikato weather and rural access shape every job. We plan for usable windows, not brochure-perfect skies.

Professional standards

We operate under CAA Part 101 with documented safety habits. Until Part 102 is issued, every flight stays inside Part 101.

Training & operating rules

CAA Part 101 operations

SkyVector operates commercial aerial inspections under New Zealand’s CAA Part 101 rules. Our pilots have completed Part 101 and Part 102 aviation theory plus practical flight training with NZ Drone Academy. We’re preparing our Part 102 Unmanned Aircraft Operator Certificate application so we can expand beyond standard 101 limits when the job needs it.

Until Part 102 is issued, every flight stays inside Part 101.

Our mission

Useful data, not hype

Whether it is a roof leak hunt, a solar health check, or a farm orthomosaic, we bring the same practical standard: fly safely, deliver clearly, and be straight with you about what the data shows.
