Frequently asked questions

How does weather affect farm mapping?

We need a calm, clear enough day for photogrammetry. Fog in the valleys and strong afternoon winds are common Waikato stoppers — we wait for a workable window rather than deliver blurry mosaics.

What access and consent do you need?

A safe launch area on the property, awareness of stock and people, and confirmation you control (or have permission for) the airspace we will cover. Neighbouring dwellings close to the flight path may need a heads-up.

What is in a typical farm map pack?

A high-resolution orthomosaic of the agreed area, boundary/feature markup as scoped, and notes on drainage, tracks, or infrastructure when requested. Print- and GIS-ready files in formats we agree at quote.

Turnaround for a few hundred hectares?

Most maps land in 5–10 business days after flight, depending on hectares and weather. Very large blocks are phased — we quote the stages clearly.

Part 101 on rural properties?

Rural jobs usually fit Part 101 well, provided we keep visual line of sight and stay clear of people and stock not involved in the operation. Powerlines and nearby airstrips are flagged in the briefing.
