The aircraft and how we fly it
Enterprise gear only matters if it is flown within the rules and explained without marketing fog.
DJI Matrice 4T
Our primary platform after starting on the Mini 4K. Built for inspection and mapping work where zoom RGB and radiometric thermal matter.
- High-resolution RGB for visual condition records
- Radiometric thermal: 640×512 native
- Super Resolution up to 1280×1024
- Suitable for roofs, solar, farms, and structures
What we mean by resolution
We use one consistent claim everywhere: 640×512 native thermal, with Super Resolution up to 1280×1024. Crop work uses orthomosaics, drainage and boundary mapping, plus thermal crop stress context.
Operating under CAA Part 101
SkyVector operates commercial aerial inspections under New Zealand’s CAA Part 101 rules, with site-specific hazard thinking before take-off. Until Part 102 is issued, every flight stays inside Part 101.
Theory and practical training complete
Our pilots have completed Part 101 and Part 102 aviation theory plus practical flight training with NZ Drone Academy. We’re preparing our Part 102 Unmanned Aircraft Operator Certificate application so we can expand beyond standard 101 limits when the job needs it.
Weather & access honesty
Flights move when wind, rain, or irradiance would make the data useless. Better a reschedule than a pretty but empty report.
